More than just a good idea
Posters are considered the supreme discipline of graphic design. Rightly so, in our opinion, and as the next issue of Grafikmagazin, which focuses on poster design, will prove. We spoke intensively with various designers about this versatile medium. And as different as their views were, they all seemed to agree: a good idea for a suitable creation alone is not enough. Careful production and a sense of technical implementation are also required.
Posters for the conference Print and design
With the online print shop ONLINEPRINTERS, we had a partner for printing and design that knows a lot about production and implemented our multi-layered poster motif quickly and smoothly. The conference took place on October 7, 2021 at the Munich Literaturhaus - for the first time in many months on site with a large number of participants. A medium like this is of course essential here.
The poster motif and associated advertising materials were intended to appeal to designers as well as print professionals. Designer Tobias Holzmann approached the focus topic of sustainability with visual elements that use the different levels of a densely overgrown forest as a metaphor. The poster as an eye-catcher
Various media are important for branding events, but posters play a particularly important role here. Posters are also well received in the university environment. To draw attention to our new section Grafikmagazin Mensa, our art director is currently designing a poster for design schools and universities. It should be thin enough to be sent out as an insert, yet stable and robust enough to last a while on a student pinboard.
